CIIS’ online degrees combine personalized learning and state-of-the-art technology to provide a unique learning experience. Our online format allows students from all over the world to learn in an interactive and diverse learning environment, and for faculty to teach seamlessly across platforms and classes.

Each of the below online degrees (except for Applied Psychology taught in China) start each semester with a residential intensive in the San Francisco Bay Area. While on campus, students join faculty members for three to seven exciting days of workshops, presentations, advising, and collaborative learning. Students then continue their course of study in our multimedia online environment, taught by CIIS faculty – all thought leaders and innovators in their fields.

Online Bachelor, Master's and Doctorate Degrees

A Unique Combination of Personalized and Online Learning

  • You'll start each semester with a residential intensive in the San Francisco Bay Area (please note that the MA in Applied Psychology taught in China do not have residential intensives). Our residential intensives bring students and faculty together for 3 to 7 stimulating days of workshops, classes, and community building. You'll get the chance to meet and learn with fellow students and faculty in classes and informal gatherings, while enjoying the breathtaking Bay Area environment.

  • Between residential intensives, students participate in an exciting array of online courses. Our online format allows students from all over the world to work closely with faculty and to share ideas and study in an interactive and diverse learning environment.

To support faculty instruction in hybrid and online courses, the Department of Technology has created a centralized repository of digital teaching tools, software instructions, and on-demand support.
