When submitting your materials, please make sure that all materials clearly state your full name. We recommend utilizing headers and page numbers (if needed) to maintain the order of your documents. Please allow 2-3 business days for processing. Please check your programs apply page above for the specific application requirements.
Please submit your supporting materials by sending a separate email for each attachment (in .doc, or .pdf formats) rather than bundling all attachments in one email. Please email each attachment in a separate email (ideally with an abbreviation of your program's name, your name, and the title of the material in the subject line of the email) to:
While we encourage applicants to submit their supporting materials electronically, if you'd prefer to send hard copies please send them to:
ACTCM at CIIS
Step 3: Submit Your Official Transcripts
We require official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate academic institutions attended, regardless of whether or not you received a degree. This includes all transcripts from any institution where you have earned 7 or more units and transcripts from any schools that appear on your degree conferral transcript. Be sure to mention on your application if your transcript is listed under a different name.
US and Canadian transcripts must arrive in their official, sealed envelopes and can be sent to:
ACTCM at CIIS
Electronic transcripts sent directly from your academic institution can be sent to:
All transcripts from schools outside the United States and Canada must be sent, at the applicant's expense, to World Education Services (WES) foreign credential evaluation service. A course-by-course report* is required for all programs and will be used in lieu of the CIIS application requirement for original transcripts. CIIS accepts the WES 'Basic' report, but applicants may wish to complete the 'ICAP'.
CIIS will also accept foreign credential evaluations that are in a comprehensive course-by-course format from the current members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
Minimum GPA: A GPA of 3.0 or higher in previous coursework is required. However, a GPA below 3.0 does not automatically disqualify an applicant and CIIS will consider a prospective student whose GPA is between 2.0 and 3.0. These individuals are required to submit a GPA Statement and are encouraged to contact the Office of Admissions to discuss their options.
Applicants for whom English is not their native language are required to submit an English language proficiency score. Exceptions are made for students who have earned their Bachelor of Arts degree from English language universities. Admission to CIIS requires a minimum score for one of the following exams:
Once your application has been processed, you will be issued a User ID and password for your 'MyCIIS' account via email, provided you have not previously received one. Please contact Portal Help if you do not receive log-in details.
