This symposium is the closing event for the Community-Based Models for Black Mental Health: Black Psychology as a Professional Gateway Project.
The symposium theme is "Reclaiming Our Truth: Indigenous African Customs and Thought for Healing Beyond the Clinical Model"

Symposium is a co-creation of members of the Black Psychology Leadership Cohort - a select group of dynamic and diverse Black community healers, clinicians, artists, and students.
The symposium will feature a community altar - "Heritage: Honoring Our Ancestors". All attendees are encouraged to bring a small Ancestral keepsake to place at the Altar.
Lunch will be catered by Radio Africa. Funding provided by the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development. In partnership with CIIS, Bay Area Association of Black Psychologists, Health and Human Resource Education Center, Rafiki Coalition for Health and Wellness.
