Department Overview
The Department of Undergraduate Interdisciplinary Studies at CIIS offers students of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to finish their bachelor’s degree online and in a timely manner.
Our Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies is a degree completion program that focuses on three themes over three semesters: Self and Society, Integral Learning, and Modern Perspectives (semester one); Culture and Community, Knowledge and Inquiry, and Research and Writing (semester two); and Global Studies, Social Change, and Senior Project (semester three).
Our graduates go on to make a difference in their communities by furthering their education by advancing to a master’s program or by going directly into careers in a wide variety of fields, such as social justice, journalism, political science, artistry, technology, education, administration, entrepreneurship, and more.
Faculty are actively engaged around the world in their research interests, including empowering refugees and immigrants, dismantling privilege, indigenous communities, the intersections of art, spirituality, and activism, restorative justice processes, LGBTQ+ studies, depth psychology, power dynamics, and identity construction.
