Admission to the Program
Prospective students are asked to submit an application and provide a statement of their interest in the program, official transcripts, and letters of recommendation (see below). All prospective students under consideration for admission must participate in an interview prior to acceptance.
Skills and Competencies
Successful candidates for admission in the program typically have the following qualifications: a vision that is compatible with the program’s mission; a path of personal growth and/or spiritual growth; sufficient maturity and stability to pursue independent self-inquiry and sustained research; competence in communication and dialogical skills; demonstration of respect for a diversity of viewpoints; an openness to multiple ways of knowing and whole-person learning; the ability to clearly articulate educational, professional, and research goals; outstanding scholarly writing skills; and a prospective specialization that is consonant with the program’s mission and faculty expertise.
The MA program accepts applications on a rolling basis and admits students for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. It is highly recommended that you submit all application materials by the priority deadline for each semester to ensure that your application is considered. May 1 is the deadline for Fall; September 1 is the deadline for Spring admissions; and the Summer deadline is February 1. Applications are accepted after the posted deadline on a space-available basis.
