Resilience and joy matter. In the increasingly difficult times we live in, our individual and collective thriving are under constant threat. Joyous resilience is the magical, powerful force that emanates from an inner core of nurturance, protection, and emotional attunement. It allows us to live with a deep sense of inner joy, to flourish despite great stress, and to reshape the negative forces that impact our lives to create a new world.

We are all navigating an exhausting, disconnecting, do-more-buy-more culture that disproportionately harms those with marginalized identities and leads us to believe that our thriving depends solely on individual effort. Mainstream wellness culture doesn't account for the ways that social oppression and economic injustice intersect to make resilience difficult for many to access. So, where do we begin?

Join somatic psychotherapist and author Anjuli Sherin for a transformative experiential workshop on cultivating joyous resilience. Anjuli walks participants through a two-frame model—the cycle of suffering and the circle of resilience—that helps us understand that cultivating joyous resilience in our lives is inextricably connected to a deeper, more harmonious relationship with our internal dialogue and emotions.

In this workshop learn to recognize and replace the negative inner voices that are at the root of so much of your distress (the cycle of suffering) with the consistent, positive, and generative skills of four key inner forces: self- nurturance, protection, creativity, and soulfulness (the circle of resilience). Practice attuning to your own feelings and needs, and reclaim your inner permission to protect your body, heart, and time with firm boundaries. Learn to tap into soulfulness, creativity, play, ancestral wisdom, pleasure, and inter-connection with all of life and our innate resources.

Anjuli invites you to remember that we can feel whole, lovable, free and alive exactly as we are. When we learn to care for ourselves in this way, we undo the cycle of pain and suffering in our lives—including that caused by cumulative, inter-generational and collective trauma. Doing this work frees ourselves and future generations, giving us the sustained resilience and fierce compassion necessary to work towards an equitable world.

This workshop combines lecture, group sharing, meditation, and somatic experiential exercises that guide participants through an intersectional healing model and accessible practices that can be applied to any area of life where one feels stuck in suffering.

This workshop is ideal for healing practitioners as well as the general public. The tools provided can be used immediately whether you are in therapy already, doing healing work on your own, or a healer looking for possibilities to walk your clients towards more joy and resilience.
