Bob Portlock enters his second year program for MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts and Writing. He just enjoyed a summer exchange in Greece writing a novel. The story sets in levels of historic Greece. It entwines auto-cosmological musings on Plato’s “Cave” as Artificial Intelligence theory of game simulation glitches. Gemistean pedagogy explores mythology as literature. Sex and death reveal main thrusts of grim fairy tales leading to byzantine Courtly Manners, sacred geometry, and Dante’s Monist Hermetica – until all this hope is abandoned through the eyes of a youth raised in American artificial suburbia measured by Masonic Mormonism, and steeped in innocent naiveté emphasized in princess and goblin fantasies.
