Dr. Korie Leigh is a practicing functional medicine health and wellness coach, graduate professor, and sought-after speaker in diverse venues. She has a PhD from this program, as well as an MA in thanatology/grief studies and BA in child life and human development. Korie has worked in professional healthcare for over 15 years as a child life specialist, expressive arts facilitator, and bereavement counselor. Currently, she works as a functional medicine health coach supporting clients who experience complex chronic medical conditions, helping them to decrease their pain and associated symptoms through the use of evidence-based mind/body practices. She specializes in pediatric palliative care, Lyme disease, women's health, and complex illness.

Stemming from her clinical work in pediatric intensive care units and pediatric hospice, Korie's qualitative dissertation explored the lived experienced of bereaved parents and siblings regarding the impact of legacy building on the grief process. She continues to present workshops, trainings, and retreats for healthcare professionals on topics of legacy building, self-care, compassion fatigue, and bereavement practice.
