Makayla Elkin is working towards licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Makayla has worked in the greater area of Spokane, Washington with non-profit organizations seeking to help homeless women stabilize. Makayla is currently working to help troubled teens reconnect with their families at a residential therapeutic boarding school in Heron, Montana.

Makayla received her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gonzaga University, and received her bachelor's degree in both Psychology and Sociology from Washington State University. Makayla's research interests include social consciousness and transcendence, the basic motivations of sexuality and their implications in modern society, the social construction of sexuality, and sexual education discourse in primary and higher education, trans* health and social policy, BDSM culture, self-awareness, and sexual expression. Makayla seeks to help others become self-actualized, and to help people tune into the sexual experience as a part of the integral process that is necessary in becoming truly self-actualized.
