Restoring Inspiration with Earth-Based Rituals

Workshop is live online and takes place over TWO days. Saturday Workshop Hours are 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. PST. Sunday workshop hours are 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. PDT. Please note that Daylight Savings Time begins on the second day of the workshop.

There’s an ever-present invitation to awaken to the blossoming Earth within, even amidst the growing tides of disconnection, apathy, and warped vision. Connecting to the nourishing dimension of our Earthly belonging provides a fertile root from which to derive guidance, healing, and fulfillment, while also linking to the many powers we share our planet with.

Ritual kindles our kinship with life itself and provides an opening to better honor our relations with the human and non-human domains, opening our hearts to the Holy Mystery that summoned us into existence. This opening entails the cultivation of a more loving presence with the full range of human experience and with the pain and joy of what it means to be alive in this epochal time of cultural and ecological unraveling.

Join ritualist, facilitator, author, and CIIS alumni Adrián Villasenor-Galarza for an experiential and transformative workshop exploring our connection to the Earth and how to create personal rituals to deepen this relationship. Restoring our Earthly allegiance summons fertile possibilities to better face today’s challenges, helping us reconcile with long-lost aspects of our humanity, and allowing access to previously unknown reservoirs of deep resilience and inspiration.

Adrián guides participants to come together through a combination of ritual, visioning, group work, nature connection, and lecture to cultivate a more intimate relation to the living Earth within and without. Participants learn practical, Earth-based rituals to easily incorporate into their daily lives in order to nurture a sense of purpose, wellbeing, and open-hearted connection.

Adrián Villasenor-Galarza, PhD, is passionate about human transformation in service of the living Earth. Adrián is an international facilitator, ritualist, academic collaborator, author, and contemplative practitioner whose work weaves together the psycho-spiritual study of the Earth-human relation, animist practices, and contemplative wisdom.

His doctorate, from CIIS, centered on the confluence of Eastern liberation teachings and Ecopsychology, resulting in an elemental framework for self-discovery, healing, and regenerative action. Adrián is the author of a handful of books and translator into Spanish of Joanna Macy’s seminal book, Coming Back to Life: The Updated Guide to the Work That Reconnects. The contemplative and Earth-based lineages of beauty, wisdom, and compassion he has honored since his teens serve as the guiding force behind his work in service of personal transformation and socio-ecological viability.
