Integral and Transpersonal Psychology
School of Consciousness and Transformation

MA, Manchester Medical School

After graduating from Manchester medical school in 1995, Tony undertook psychiatric training in the UK and Australia. He relocated to Canada in 2009 and have since then practiced general hospital and community psychiatry in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Tony also provides psychiatric outreach services to local First Nations communities in the Fraser Valley. His areas of interest include cultural psychiatry and the interface between psychiatry and religion/spirituality.

Tony feels that CIIS afforded him a supportive and stimulating environment in which to work towards a PhD, while demanding a high level of academic rigor and very exacting standards of scholarship. He feels that the university's greatest attributes include its deep respect for diversity in all forms and its commitment to honoring multiple ways of knowing. For his dissertation, Tony wanted to examine some of psychiatry's points of contact with integral and transpersonal thought and in the program, he was able to find the perfect "home" in which to pursue that aim.
