Christy Brown lives in Jacksonville, Florida, where she works as a licensed mental health counselor at a university counseling center and in private practice. She specializes in the treatment of trauma and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. She enjoys working with people from an existential and spiritual perspective, focusing on mindfulness, meditation, and the relationships between mind and body. Christy believes that self-reflection and personal practice are what keeps her fresh as a counselor and what makes working with clients constantly interesting and challenging.

In her free time, Christy loves to be outdoors and goes into the wilderness as often as possible either in a kayak or on foot. She is also an artist (she originally entered college as an art major) and spent many years as a photographer; however, she now focuses on handmade art. She loves to read and cook and connect with the people she loves.
