Brian Barnes is the clinical supervisor of substance-use disorder treatment services for a large community health clinic in Portland, OR, where behavioral health and complementary medicine are integrated within primary health care. Brian holds master's-level certifications in substance-use disorder counseling in the state of Oregon and nationally. Brian is a designated qualified mental health professional and is currently seeking licensure as a clinical social worker. Brian earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from California State Polytechnic University and a master’s degree in social work from Portland State University. Brian is an advocate for offering supportive services alongside medications for conditions requiring behavioral change to achieve long-term recovery.
