Training and Career Development Opportunities at CIIS
CIIS offers several competitive fellowships and assistantship opportunities to its students:
The CWS Fellows Program through the Center for Writing and Scholarship (CWS) consists of a year-long tutoring fellowship designed to prepare the next generation of college instructors to work with students on academic writing.
The Integral Teaching Fellowship (ITF) Program offers CIIS graduate students an opportunity to prepare for teaching at the college level during a semester-long training program.
In addition, there is a small number of teaching and research assistantships available each year in different academic programs at CIIS.
Teaching assistantships provide an opportunity for students to gain related experience under the guidance of faculty mentors. The teaching assistant must complete a contract for every class they assist to receive payment of their work.
Research assistantships provide an opportunity for students to acquire experience in diverse areas of research and writing projects. The research assistant must complete a contract per semester or per year, depending on the length of the appointment. The student must also complete a timecard to receive payment of their work. The research assistant may work only up to five hours per week.
