If you would like to register for the conversation "On Shamanic Tools for Reclaiming Wholeness in a Culture of Trauma" with Langston Kahn on Tuesday, January 26, click here.
We live in a fast-paced, tuned-in, stressed-out world where there is little time to cultivate and refocus our scattered energy or address the way other people's energy interferes with ours. Much of contemporary culture is built to reinforce and internalize the harmful societal stories we learned as children, leaving us anxious, lonely, disconnected, or just completely overwhelmed.
Join shamanic practitioner Langston Kahn for an in-depth workshop exploring how to liberate our imagination from the oppressive systems that limit our ability to dream a new world into existence. In this experiential workshop, Langston guides participants through shamanic practices, from addressing how to access the deep wisdom of the body and our authentic self, effectively interpreting our own unique symbolic language, to unpacking the gifts at the root of our triggers and trauma. Langston shares interactive exercises for true transformation, and for cultivating the resilience needed to create change in the world.
When we understand how to liberate ourselves from the harmful strategies we’ve learned to survive in contemporary culture, and instead put our imagination in service of our heart’s true longing, then we can free our collective power to build the world we long for.
Please note that this workshop will be hosted live online. Instructions on how to join will be included in your event confirmation email. If you need additional assistance finding or joining the event, please email publicprograms@ciis.edu.
Langston Kahn is a shamanic practitioner and teacher specializing in radical human transformation, ancestral healing, and the restoration of an authentic relationship with our emotions. He stands firmly at the crossroads, his practice informed by somatic modalities, contemporary shamanic traditions, initiations into traditions of the African Diaspora, training with Indigenous elders and his helping spirits and ancestors weaving it all together.
Langston gives workshops and lectures globally in person and online and is the author of Deep Liberation: Shamanic Teachings for Reclaiming Wholeness in a Culture of Trauma. He serves as a senior teacher for the Last Mask Community, a collective of people striving to live in alignment with ancient shamanic principles and applying them.
