Lauren Gogarty, LMFT is adjunct faculty at CIIS and the Director of the Trauma Studies Certificate at John F. Kennedy University (JFKU). She received her master’s degree in Holistic Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Buddhist Psychology, from JFKU in 2013. Outside of teaching she is the clinical director for Harambee Arts Nepal, an expressive arts therapy program for survivors of human trafficking in Kathmandu. Additionally, she maintains a private practice working with the LGBTQ community in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her current areas of academic interest are social justice and trauma, embodied psychotherapy, and Buddhist psychology.
