Biography

Dr. Kellen Grayson is an experienced clinician who has worked with children, youth, families, and adults for over two decades. Trained at the New College of California and School of Professional Psychology. Dr. “G” serves as Clinic Director of the Golden Gate Counseling Center with the Integral Counseling Program, Director of Clinical Services at Pathways to Wellness a community mental health center, is a Clinical Supervisor across various agencies and programs, an Adjunct Lecturer for various local universities, and operates a private practice serving youth, adults, and families.  

Dr. Grayson co-authored a chapter in “Mental Health Practice with LGBTQ+ Children, Adolescents and Emerging Adults in Multiple Systems of Care” which won the American Psychological Association’s Division 44 Award for Distinguished Book Award. He also published his dissertation on a Psychoanalytic Framework of Female to Male Transgender Psychological Development.

He provides ongoing consultation, training, and supervision to trainees, interns, and licensed professionals. His specialties are non-profit executive management, complex PTSD, psychoanalytic-solution focused therapy, systemic oppression, and unconscious processes and motivations. He works with trainees on learning how to become their authentic selves and supports their evolution of clinical voice. Through supervision, he works closely with the supervisee from a clinician scholar perspective.

He is a founding member of the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Child and Adolescent Gender Center Mind the Gap Group, a former President, Technology Chair, and Secretary for the Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology Board. Dr. G is also a foster parent, avid holiday decorator, caregiver to 15 chickens and 2 Shih Tzu puppies, an amateur DJ by the name of DJ Dopamine, and a well-experienced baker of desserts.
