Ellen Durst

Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid
Provost Division

Ellen joined CIIS as a Master's student in 2005 and has served CIIS in various capacities since then, working in the Somatic Psychology program, the School of Undergraduate Studies, and the Admissions Office, in progressively more responsible leadership roles. Prior to joining CIIS, Ellen lived abroad and acquired experience in marketing and publishing. She also served in advising roles at her undergraduate institution.

During her time at CIIS, Ellen has earned two master's degrees (so far!) and continues to enjoy the learning opportunities offered at CIIS. Motivated by her identities and background, as well as learning experiences and connections fostered by CIIS, Ellen is particularly interested in the intersections of culture, emotions, oppressive systems, and well-being, and processes for healing historical and ongoing everyday and complex trauma. This also led her to spearhead the creation of the Diversity Scholarship at CIIS. In her current role at CIIS, Ellen oversees the Admissions and Financial Office offices.
