In Service of Beloved Community: A Conversation With Damali Robertson, Rachel Bryant, and Shirley Strong

A Conversation with Damali Robertson, Rachel Bryant, and Shirley Strong

Beloved Community is a visionary idea that comes alive when people, as Josiah Royce stated, “Act so as to hasten its coming.” There are many ways to act – to offer kindness, empathy, and to be of service to self, society, and the planet.

For our transformation guest Damali Robertson, her work is focused on collective liberation for individuals, organizations, and societies. Damali has worked in non-profits, universities (previously at CIIS in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion); and is an educator, a healer, and a filmmaker.

At the center is her spiritual practice, which illuminates pathways to her values, her projects, and what actions she takes in the service of love and liberation.

Join Damali for a conversation with Rachel Bryant and Shirley Strong about the power and clarity that comes from art as a spiritual practice, a practice rooted in people, in place, and in spirit.

What is the Transformation Series?

The Transformation Series is part of the Beloved Community Initiative's commitment to critically engage with the CIIS community by platforming inspiring voices. Designed to enhance our mission of cultivating courageous conversations, bridging divides, and building connections, we hope that this series will inspire hope and transformative action.

Each Transformation session dedicates its last 30 minutes, 1:00pm-1:30pm PDT/PST, to prospective students who have questions about CIIS.
