It is possible to heal ourselves and our planet if we are open to the power of integrating multiple and often conflicting views. In their lives and work, authors and CIIS faculty members Alka Arora, Jeanine M. Canty, and Sara H. Salazar demonstrate this power and possibility.

Join these three inspirational scholars for a conversation exploring their personal and professional experiences straddling social and ecological issues and how navigating these edges has surfaced new learning, models, and practices for collective healing.

Drawing from their contributions to the compendium Ecological and Social Healing: Multicultural Women’s Voices, Alka, Jeanine, and Sara explore several topics: the connection between compassion, social justice, and veganism; the power of Xicana mothering with Indigenous food systems as a form of activism; and how a broken worldview fosters greater resilience and clear seeing. Their dialogue engages intersectional, integral, and transdisciplinary scholarship surrounding ecological and social issues and explores what healing can look like.
