Call for Papers — Forever Jung Conference
Join CIIS to celebrate Jung’s legacy and explore his psychology’s impact on growth, healing, and cultural change in challenging times.
The East-West Psychology Department at CIIS and The C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco invite analysts, clinicians, artists, and scholars of depth psychology to submit proposals for a three-day conference commemorating the 150th birthday of C.G. Jung, taking place September 19–21, 2025 in person in San Francisco and virtually on zoom.

C.G. Jung’s work continues to illuminate the depths of the individual and collective psyche, offering vital insights into personal transformation, cultural and social tensions, and global challenges. As we navigate an era of uncertainty, division, and rapid change, this conference seeks to explore the enduring relevance of Jungian thought in addressing contemporary issues.
Type of Presentation
- Paper Presentations: 60 minutes (30- to 40-minute presentation and 15-minute Q&A)
- Panels: 60 minutes (3-4 speakers on shared topic area, 10-minute each plus group discussion)
- Creative Presentations: 60 minutes - film, storytelling, poetry, painting, movement, dance, and other creative performance (15-minute conceptual background and aims, 15- to 25-minute performance, and 20-minute Q&A)
- Experiential Sessions: 60 minutes
Submission Requirements
Submissions should include:
- Title and abstract (250–300 words)
- Brief bio (100 words)
- Presentation format (paper, panel, experiential session, or creative presentation)
- For a creative presentation or experiential session: describe in some detail the theme, aims, and process, methods, etc.
Conference Themes
We welcome proposals for papers, panels, creative presentations, and experiential sessions that engage with themes including, but not limited to:
- Individuation and the search for meaning in an uncertain world
- The shadow and its manifestation in personal and collective crises
- Jungian perspectives on trauma, healing, and resilience
- Myth, archetypes, and symbolism in contemporary culture
- Alchemy, transformation, and the evolution of consciousness
- Cultural analysis and cultural complexes
- Jungian-informed approaches to activism, social justice, and ecological crisis
- The role of dreams, synchronicity, and the unconscious in today’s world
- Contemporary artistic, literary, and cinematic expressions of Jungian themes
We look forward to gathering a diverse and dynamic community to celebrate Jung’s legacy and explore his continued relevance in these challenging times.
