Event Description

The romantic templates we have been provided do not always match our inner sense of how to design a happy and meaningful life. It’s common to feel confused and frustrated with the gap between what we think intimate love should look like, and what presents itself in real life situations.

The good news—when we allow ourselves to attune to our deeper desires and romantic gifts, we can discover a level of authenticity that transcends social conditioning and expectations. Becoming personally and relationally aligned to this authentic self can be challenging, but it also holds the potential to be a deeply healing and empowering process.

In this experiential workshop, mindful dating and relationship coach Marie Thouin takes participants through a journey of self-discovery and connection practice in the realm of intimate love. Dr. Thouin supports participants as they embody their deeper romantic truths and practice communicating from that space.

Through a variety of self-reflective and interactive exercises, Dr. Thouin invites participants to explore the following questions: What aspects of my romantic life—past and present—take me closer to myself? Which ones take me further away? What beliefs, patterns, and emotions stand in the way of my authentic self-expression in intimate situations? How can I develop a healthier relationship with rejection—both the process of giving and receiving it? How can I establish and communicate loving boundaries in dating and established partnerships? How can I better communicate my authentic desires to potential or current intimate partners? What do I most wish to learn, create, and experience in the romantic realm of my life moving forward?

This workshop is open to all and offers tools for greater intimacy no matter your current relationship status.

Dr. Marie Thouin is the founder of Love InSight, a mindful dating & relationship coaching practice where she supports people of all backgrounds and relationship styles in developing vibrant, intentional, and empowered love lives. Marie completed her PhD in the East-West Psychology department at California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco where she conducted seminal research on the topic of compersion (empathic joy) in consensually non-monogamous relationships. Her work on compersion and mindful dating was featured in numerous podcasts and publications, including the UC Berkeley's Greater Good Science Center's magazine and ELLE. She also serves as Editor at the International Journal of Transpersonal Studies, a peer-reviewed publication in the fields of transpersonal and whole-person psychologies.
