Biography

Leslie Davenport is author of two leading texts on guided imagery, Healing and Transformation through Self-Guided Imagery and Transformative Imagery: Cultivating the Imagination for Healing, Change and Growth.  

She was the founder of the Humanities Program at Marin General Hospital, which evolved into The Institute for Health and Healing in partnership with California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. As a licensed marriage and family therapist in practice for over 20 years, she is an advocate for the role of guided imagery in psychotherapy and integrative medicine. She has recently brought her experience with collaborative healing models to help resolve the climate change crisis with her latest book, Emotional Resiliency in the Era of Climate Change.

Currently she serves in a climate psychology advisory role to One Resilient Earth, Climate Mental Health Network, and the Integrative Healers Action Network. She has participated in interdisciplinary climate think tanks hosted by the Post Carbon Institute and Institute for Policy Studies.
