CIIS Signs National Statement for Constructive Engagement
CIIS has joined hundreds of colleges and universities across the country in signing “A Call for Constructive Engagement.”
Dear CIIS Community,
I am proud to have joined hundreds of college and university leaders from across the country in signing "A Call for Constructive Engagement," developed in collaboration with the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) and the American Academy of Arts & Sciences.
This national statement calls for thoughtful, constructive reform while standing firmly against unprecedented government overreach and political interference in higher education. It reaffirms the essential role of colleges and universities as spaces of free inquiry, academic integrity, and institutional autonomy—values I believe are critical to the future of higher education and to our work at CIIS.
We speak with one voice against the unprecedented government overreach and political interference now endangering American higher education.
"A Call for Constructive Engagement"
I invite you to read the full statement and reflect on the principles it affirms. Thank you for being part of a community committed to the thoughtful exchange of ideas and the dignity of all who learn, teach, and grow here.
With appreciation and solidarity,
President S. Brock Blomberg
