Biography

Patty Pforte has spent her life and work supporting and collaborating with people in non-profit work. She graduated from Bard College in Anthropology and Africana Studies with a focus on museums and how they interpret cultural and spiritual artifacts. She has a Master's in Museum Studies from New York University and wrote her thesis on the potential futures for museum security guards. Patty then worked in museums in Public Programs, Visitor Experience, and Visitor Services for over ten years. She joined California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in 2019. Patty loves walking around her neighborhood in Huichin, what is called Alameda, CA and is the ancestral and continual lands of the Federated Villages of Lisjan, bird watching, watching horror movies, and vintage shopping.
