Oliver B. Williams, PhD, is a published author of novels, peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters. His novels include The Sand Fly (a psychological thriller submitted by his publisher for the Pulitzer in 2012), science fiction novel Children of the Universe and historical/scifi novel The Carbon Cult. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara and has earned two Masters Degrees: Statistics and Methodology (UCSB) and Counseling Psychology (Cal Lutheran). His Bachelors degree was a double major in Physics and Psychology (UCLA & UCI). Prior to clinical psychology he was a microelectronics engineer, serving in both engineering and management roles. He invented a unique optocoupled solid state relay that revolutionized high power solid state switching technology. In addition he has written software applications for clinical patient assessment, data collection, and statistical analysis. His goal in psychology is to apply technology to the science of helping people change. Dr. Williams is also an accomplished pilot, and holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, Certified Flight Instructor, and is Lear Jet type rated.
