Biography

Jaap Geerlof, PhD, holds a doctorate in Transformative Studies from CIIS. He has a Master of Science in Human Geography from the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands with a specialization in methodology of quantitative and qualitative research. Jaap is co-founder of a policy research and consultancy firm in The Netherlands and served as the CEO for over twenty years. In this capacity he designed and directed several programs for vulnerable people that profit less from the Dutch welfare state. These programs were aimed to enhance social participation and (re-)integration in the labor force, and to foster entrepreneurial skills. Currently he works as a transformative consultant in The Netherlands.

As a scholar-practitioner, Jaap’s research interests are transdisciplinary with a specific emphasis on transformative leadership, equality, co-creation of public policy frameworks and programs, and strong democracy. Jaap has written several books and articles on transformative leadership, public policy and equality.
