Biography

Daniel Deslauriers is an educator, researcher, and movement artist. Originally from Montreal, Québec, he joined CIIS in 1990. He became faculty in TSD program in 2011. Previously, he chaired the East-West Psychology program and the Integral Individualized Doctorate. He has taught at McGill University, Université de Montréal, John F Kennedy University (California), Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (California) as well as facilitated training on dreams nationally and internationally in Taiwan, Indonesia, Sweden, China, Canada and France.

He co-authored Integral Dreaming: A Holistic Approach in Working with Dreams (SUNY Press) and Le rêve: sa nature, sa fonction et une méthode d'analyse (PUQ).

Daniel’s artistic practice focuses on embodied knowing as a practitioner of Contact Improvisation. He trained in the traditional Balinese dance form of Topeng (mask dance) and was a member of Sekar Jaya (California).

He received the John Templeton Teaching Award for his course on Consciousness Science and Religion. His current interests include ecological phenomenology, and in particular the notion of Reciprocal Embeddedness to capture the phenomenological complexity of our interconnection with the Earth and the role of consciousness.
