Metaphysics and the Matter With Things: Thinking With Iain McGilchrist

A three-day conference co-hosted by the Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness Department

Synthesizing decades of clinical research as well as multiple scientific disciplines, and drawing from both ancient and modern philosophers, Dr. Iain McGilchrist has established himself as an important cultural critic and a formidable process thinker. He is committed to reintegrating the holistic modes of thought associated with the right hemisphere as a guide to spiritual renewal, asking us how we can create a more positive future via deep inquiry into human consciousness.

Hosted jointly by the Department of Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness and the Center for Process Studies, this conference will offer three days of transdisciplinary dialogue featuring renowned physicists, biologists, psychologists, philosophers, and theologians who will offer their reflections on McGilchrist’s scientific, philosophical, and spiritual contributions. Speakers also include CIIS Professors Matthew Segall, Richard Tarnas, and Carolyn Cooke. For the full list of speakers and their bios, see the conference page on the Center for Process Studies website.

Tickets for in-person seating are expected to sell out fast. Please visit the registration page for availability and to purchase.
