A Conversation with Patrisse Cullors

  • This is a live online conversation with audience Q&A. Registration includes livestream access and ad-free replay.

How do we imagine our way toward a better world? From the clothes we wear to the architecture that surrounds us, aesthetics—the way we perceive and create meaning through beauty and art—can be a powerful tool for healing, justice, and liberation.

As an artist, abolitionist, educator, and one of the cofounders of the Black Lives Matter movement, Patrisse Cullors is no stranger to creating change in the world and bringing people together. As a multidisciplinary artist with a background in the abolitionist movement, she has hands-on experience and a deep knowledge of how aesthetics create and shape movements, mindsets, and perceptions of our own humanity.

Join Patrisse for a transformative conversation on how we can reimagine our creative practices as acts of care and resistance. Sharing insights from her latest book, We Make the World, Patrisse empowers us to use creativity to challenge oppressive systems, nurture connection, and build sustainable futures. Exploring themes of memory, care, ritual, embodiment, and imagination, Patrisse shares unique practices to harness creativity as a tool for healing, justice, and liberation.

Whether you’re an artist seeking new ways to express yourself, an activist craving creative tools to connect with your community, or someone yearning to experience firsthand how beauty creates justice, Patrisse invites you to make the world as we dream it.
