Join clinician and Community Mental Health Master's Program Core Faculty member, Dr. Steven Tierney, LPCC, for a three hour training on how to address suicidal behavior/ ideation and help reduce the risk of suicide.
Topics covered will include:
- Understanding and comfort with the language of suicide for clinicians and engaged community members.
- Understanding NFSI (non-suicide self-injury) suicide ideations and suicide.
- What to do after initial intervention
Dr. Steven Tierney Bio
Dr. Steven Tierney, Ed.D., LPCC is a Core Faculty Member of the Community Mental Health MA program and Chair of the Masters in Counseling Psychology Core Curriculum at CIIS. He holds an M.A. in Counseling and Social Psychology from Wayne State University and an Ed.D. from Northeastern University. He is a licensed psychotherapist in California (LPCC), a nationally certified counselor (NCC), and the Co-Founder of the San Francisco Mindfulness Foundation.
