While we are typically unable to offer financial assistance or scholarships for our off-campus events, we often need volunteers to help with greeting, ushering, or gatekeeping at these events. Volunteering requires that you commit to arriving before the event and staying for the duration of your shift. In exchange for volunteering, you are able to attend the majority of the event free of charge.

Why volunteer with CIIS Public Programs?
As a 501(c)3 non-profit, CIIS Public Programs relies on the hands of many volunteers, working in lots of different ways to ensure our patrons have a memorable experience at our events. CIIS Public Programs is grateful to all those members of the community who have volunteered with us in the past and present. Volunteering with CIIS Public Programs offers a way to become a part of a vibrant community of arts and ideas enthusiasts and to see great events!
What types of events require volunteers?
We usually require volunteers for our large, off-campus events only. On occasion, we will need 1 or 2 volunteers to assist with a lecture or conversation on campus, although this is not common. We do not require volunteers for workshops. If you are seeking financial assistance for a workshop, you can learn more about applying for a scholarship below.

What are some of the benefits of volunteering?

Volunteers are expected to represent CIIS and Public Programs by providing an excellent patron experience.
