How can the relationship between a teacher and student, or therapist and client, facilitate the unfolding of spiritual development and realization? How can we, as teachers or therapists, support the flowering of the Innate Wisdom and Love in our students or clients.

Through both a talk and experiential exercises to begin the 2018 Nondual Wisdom and Psychology Conference, Lama Palden explores all four of these roles from her experience of inhabiting each over the last 30-40 years. She discusses themes of integrity, clarity, appropriate trust, and how we can support the Innate Pure Being of our students and clients while at the same time holding space for the messiness of human experience.

Lama Palden Drolma is the founder and spiritual director of Sukhasiddhi Foundation. She completed the traditional Tibetan Buddhist three-year retreat under the previous Kalu Rinpoche's guidance in 1985. In 1986 she became one of the first Western women to be authorized as a lama in the Vajrayana tradition. She has also studied with many of the Tibetan masters from all lineages. She focuses on translating Vajrayana Buddhist principles and practices in ways that make them accessible to Westerners. Lama Palden has also had a lifelong interest in comparative mysticism and psychology and is a licensed psychotherapist.
