We're living through the Golden Age of Television, innovations in film, and the birth of the Web Series. Tremendously new and diverse realities are being told on screen. Beneath all of these dreamy incantations lies a rigorous craft that requires specialized training. Many people want to be part of this world, but how does one begin?

This weekend workshop offers an intensive introductory course in writing for the screen taught through lecture, exercises, and by analyzing the techniques of successful shows and films. Day one focuses on understanding key foundational issues of story design, conflict generation, and sequence plotting. Day two focuses on practice, working with ideas generated by students, honing and sharpening skills to enable each participant to best tell their story.

This workshop is designed for aspiring TV, film, and web story writers who want to learn the challenging craft of writing for the screen. Skills learned can also be applied to constructing a novel, developing a performance, or even navigating the turbulence of everyday life.
