Pireeni Sundaralingam is a cognitive scientist who undertook both her undergraduate and postgraduate work at the University of Oxford, and conducted further research into human cognition at UCLA and MIT. Her poetry has been published in more than two dozen literary journals and translated into five languages. Dr. Sundaralingam is a Fellow at the Exploratorium, and teaches in the Interdisciplinary Arts & Writing MFA program at CIIS, including teaching MFA courses on topics such as creativity, the neuroscience of poetry and perception, as well as architecture, urban activism, and creative writing. A former science consultant for the Irish Government’s Ministry of Art, Culture, and Heritage, she is currently Principal Advisor for Human Potential for the United Nations Museum.
