Guided Imagery is a gentle process of accessing clarity by exploring images that arise naturally from within. This skillful exploration of images from our imaginations and relaxing in the comfort of our inner world can reduce stress, support inner calm, clarity, and wisdom.

Join CIIS Professor in Psychology and Health Leslie Davenport for a nourishing and transformative workshop on Guided Imagery. While Guided Imagery begins with deep relaxation, it offers much more: It ushers us to a powerful threshold beyond the limits of our conscious mind where we can receive wisdom from our inner world. Called by various names within different cultures and eras, Guided Imagery allows us to access our wisdom as it comes to us as images and symbols. Through this process, perspectives can arise, revealing concealed meanings that can inform our daily lives.

Tap into the wisdom of your true self and share in the community of others while being gently led by an expert in the field of Guided Imagery. Discover a self-care practice for cultivating calm, clarity, and transformation.

This event will be hosted live online. Instructions on how to join will be included in your event confirmation email. If you need additional assistance finding or joining the event, please email publicprograms@ciis.edu.

Leslie Davenport

Leslie Davenport, MA, MS, LMFT is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the CIIS School of Professional Psychology and Health. She is a founding member of the Institute for Health & Healing, one of the nation’s earliest and largest hospital-based integrative medicine centers where she directed a guided imagery certification program in her 25 years of leadership there.

Leslie’s interdisciplinary background inspires innovative approaches. San Francisco dance critic Allan Ulrich reviewed Leslie’s early career as a professional dancer, describing her as endowed with “A superior sense of balance…and powers of communication that set her apart from the herd.” As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, she understands the health and cultural impact of thoughts and emotions. And a passion for the mystery of the human spirit drew her to become an ordained interfaith minister.

Leslie is the author of three books: Healing and Transformation through Self-Guided Imagery, Transformative Imagery: Cultivating the Imagination for Healing, Change, and Growth (Ed.), and Emotional Resiliency in the Era of Climate Change. Her upcoming book, to be released August 2021, will provide kids with tools for navigating a warming world.

Leslie has extensive teaching experience including Mills College, University of San Francisco, California State University Hayward, Holy Names University, Five Branches University, and she served as core faculty with the Transpersonal Psychology Graduate Program at John F. Kennedy University.
