Pitching is an essential skill. In fact we're doing it all the time—whether you're telling a friend about what you're writing, sharing an idea with a collaborator, or trying to raise funds—all of these are a form of pitching. In pitching, the challenging goal is to convey the essence of your project in a way that makes people want more.
Join Alex Burger to learn the art and skill of pitching through the lens of screenwriting—these skills can be applied to dance, theatre, art—whatever your medium may be.
Alex Burger is an award-winning screenwriter and playwright currently on contract with ABC to develop a new television drama. He is known for his work in South Africa head-writing seasons 3 and 4 of the SAFTA-winning Umlilo (2016). He also wrote on the South African television shows Doubt (2016), 90 Plein Street Season 5 (2016), Hard Copy Season 4 (2016) and Isithembiso (2017-2018). He is currently writing a feature film to be shot in South Africa in 2018. He recently moved to Los Angeles and has a number of other projects in development.
