Writer, environmental researcher
Jacquelyn Ross works in university admissions, primarily with high school students in rural California. She guides students and parents through the transitions into college life. Her civic research and intertribal projects are focused on tribally-informed environmental monitoring and management, particularly in the areas of traditional foods and sustainable harvesting. She is a co-editor of Partnerships for Empowerment: Participatory Research for Community-based Natural Resource Management (Earthscan). She has served as a writer and section editor for the quarterly News from Native California. Jacquelyn's community work with tribal members and friends involves earth-mindful resource distribution, recycling, and upcycling, so that more people have access to food, clothing, art, and time-tested skill building.
