Performance as Resistance
Drawing on our university's mission of personal and social transformation, CIIS Public Programs & Performances (CIISP3), seeks performers of all types interested in presenting new and existing work in response to the concept of Performance as Resistance. CIISP3 aims to support local emerging bay area artists by offering a platform for performers to share their projects and ideas. Selected performances will be presented as part of the upcoming CIISP3 Fall/Winter 2017 season.
Application and Selection Process
Please tell us about yourself and your collaborating performers, if applicable. Respond as you see fit while bearing in mind the most important things you need to share with us:
- Who you are: Artist biography (and bio of collaborators, if applicable)
- What work you have done: Artistic samples (link to online portfolio and/or video files) *video required
- What your idea is in response to Performance as Resistance: Five hundred word project proposal
Notification of selection results to be provided to all applicants by June 30, 2017. Selected performers will be offered an honorarium and performance date options at this time. We will provide the venue space and promote the event, with details to be determined following selection. Resulting performances to be scheduled for presentation to the public September 2017-February 2018.
