Biography
Tanya Wilkinson, PhD, is a Feminist artist and author based in San Francisco. She is the author of: Medea's Folly: Women's Relationships and the Search for Intimacy (1998), Page Mill Press, Persephone Returns: Victims, Heroes, and the Journey from the Underworld (1996), Page Mill Press, and Women’s Dreams and Nightmares (2018), Smashwords. She was a Professor of Clinical Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies for 38 years.
Dr. Wilkinson’s artwork typically focuses on gender politics and dynamics. Her first career, as a Jungian Psychotherapist, fostered a deep interest in archetypal stories—fairytales, legends and myths. These tales continue to inspire her art. Tanya has shown her work, primarily in the Bay Area, since 1999. More of her artwork can be seen here.
