Biography
Dr. Asay is a Board-Certified Counseling Psychologist who has been teaching and training doctoral students in clinical psychology for over 15 years. While she loves teaching, Dr. Asay especially loves contributing to students’ professional development outside of the classroom through collaborations on publications, presentations, and community engagement endeavors. She is the former Director of the Master of Science in Counseling Program at Marian University and has taught master’s students at The Wright Institute, University of San Francisco, and DePaul University. An alumna of the Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology, Dr. Asay he has held several professional leadership roles and has consulted and trained in a variety of academic and clinical spaces in the areas of diversity, leadership, career development, and group dynamics. Dr. Asay also currently serves as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion-Operations for the National Psychology Training Consortium, an APA-approved consortium for interns working in underserved and rural communities. She is licensed in California and Illinois and maintains a private practice in the Bay Area.
