Biography

Pella Schafer Weisman (half-time) is a Board-Certified Trainer of Drama Therapists, a Registered Drama Therapist, and a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. Her clinical experience includes working with groups, couples, and individuals from a wide range of backgrounds in schools, hospitals, and group practices, including the Living Arts Counseling Center (Emeryville) and Council for Relationships (Philadelphia). She specializes in working with singles and couples seeking healthy relationships. Her previous career was based in Jewish social justice work, including founding Jewish Youth for Community Action, which is focused on community organizing, racial justice and youth empowerment. Pella works in multi-racial teams to cultivate liberatory practices in classrooms, communities, and institutions. She is a member of the Cultural Humility Equity and Diversity Committee (CHEDC) of the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA) where she serves on the Drama Therapists Against White Supremacy sub-committee. Pella received her MA in Drama Therapy Program at CIIS in 2010.
