Biography

Lisa Garbus is the Clinical Director of the Integral Counseling Center at Pierce Street. She received her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from CIIS and was a trainee and intern at the Pierce Street clinic. She is currently in private practice as a therapist, supervisor, and consultant. Before becoming a therapist, Lisa was an educator and education center director. She has a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley and has taught reading, writing, and literature to diverse students of all ages. She is passionate about social justice and eager to further Pierce’s focus on social justice and to ensure that all trainees and associates are fully supported and experience being part of a loving community, as they begin this sacred work.
