Biography
Kathy Stanley, MA is an ecopsychology educator and artist and Senior Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Undergraduate Studies at CIIS where she teaches the classes ‘Listening to Earth: Ecology, Art and the Spirit of Place’, ‘The Art of the Essay’, and ‘Reading into Writing’. She holds a Master’s Degree in Women’s Spirituality with Specializations in Spiritual Guidance and Creative Expression from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. Currently a PhD student in the East-West Psychology Department at CIIS, her research interests include ecopsychology and expressive arts. Her article "The Land That Owns Us: Identity and Place of Birth" was recently published in the Ecopsychology Journal. She is a recipient of the Collectors Vision International Art Award from Contemporary Art Curator Magazine and her art has been included in international art exhibitions in Luxembourg, Madrid, Milan and Monaco as well as seen in House and Garden Magazine, The World of Interiors Magazine, Vanity Fair and exhibitions in Seattle and Portland.
