Biography

Hua is an adjunct instructor in the Master of Arts in Applied Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) teaching the Self as Inquiry course. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Expressive Arts Therapy, also from CIIS. Currently pursuing her doctoral degree in the East-West Psychology program at CIIS, Hua's research centers on developing an innovative psycho-spiritual healing framework that integrates Expressive Arts Therapy (EAT) with Zen Buddhist philosophies for self-care and self-transformation. Hua is a multi-faceted professional, encompassing roles as an artist, art teacher, book author, and EAT practitioner. With a wealth of experience in visual arts instruction, group leadership, and individual EAT sessions, she brings a rich background to her teaching and research contributions.
