Biography

Dr. Hielke Vriesendorp is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Languages Literature and Communication at the Utrecht University, whose research investigates language variation and perception, especially in the context of minority genders and sexuality. In particular, he has worked on developments in the use of non-binary pronouns in Dutch, (more accurate) gender questions in survey research, and the use of codeswitching to English as an identity practice for some Dutch gay men.
