Biography

Dr. Frazer Heritage (he/they) is a Senior Lecturer in Linguistics at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. Their research and teaching focuses on Corpus Linguistics, (Critical) Discourse Studies, Language, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, New Media Studies, and Videogame Discourse (Ludolinguistics). His work primarily has looked at corpus approaches to videogames, online communities which perform non-normative sexualities, and media representations of trans people/characters. They are the author of Language, gender and videogames (Palgrave, 2021), Incels and ideologies (Palgrave, 2023), and co-editor (with Charlotte Taylor) on Analysing Representation: A corpus and discourse textbook (Routledge, 2024).
