Biography
Dr. Cheyenne Luzynski has extensive expertise in leadership studies, student development, and community-engaged scholarship. Currently serving as a Teaching Associate Professor in Leadership Studies at West Virginia University, she has developed and delivered courses in leadership theory, practice, and interdisciplinary studies. Dr. Luzynski’s innovative approaches to leadership education blends experiential learning, social action, and critical reflection to empower students and professionals alike.
With a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University, Dr. Luzynski's research focuses the intersections of gender, sport, and cultural change. She has co-authored works on strengths-based leadership and feminist organizing in Appalachia, showcasing her commitment to advancing equity and inclusion through scholarly engagement.
Dr. Luzynski is also a Co-Active Coach and certified Gallup Strengths Coach, mentoring students and professionals to harness their unique talents for impactful change. Beyond academia, she has consulted on leadership initiatives across sectors, from athletic programs to community organizations, driving transformative growth and resilience.
Dr. Luzynski's work exemplifies a lifelong commitment to leadership as a catalyst for personal growth, social justice, and meaningful change. Aside from being an activist, she is also a mother to a two-year-old.
