Bibliography
Aileen B. Cho, M.A., LMFT, RDT/BCT, CEDS, is a second-generation, bilingual Korean-American psychotherapist. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California, a Registered Drama Therapist and Board Certified Trainer through the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA), and a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP).
Her clinical experience includes training and work in domestic violence and sexual assault centers/shelters, community mental health settings, the Veterans Affairs (VA) system, and middle and high schools. She has extensive experience working with adolescents and adults—individually, in couples, in groups, and with families—across a wide range of settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and private practice. Her specialties include trauma, eating disorders, and co-occurring psychiatric disorders throughout the Bay Area and Southern California.
Aileen is a practitioner and faculty/trainer in Developmental Transformations (DvT), a past director of the iWest Institute in San Francisco, and a faculty member of the Hot Pot Institute in Hong Kong. In addition to serving as an advisor and adjunct faculty member in the CIIS Drama Therapy program, she offers in-service trainings and consultation for various programs and organizations. She has been a troupe member of the Living Arts Playback Ensemble in the Bay Area, a performer and director with CIIS’ Theatre for Change, and has created, directed, and consulted on numerous Self-Revelatory (Self-Rev) Performances. She now teaches how to develop Self-Revs for both performers and directors.
