Nina Strongylou, RN, LMFT, RDT/BCT began her career over 25 years ago as a drama therapist and a Marriage & Family Therapist. She is board certified trainer for drama therapists and served as vice-president of the North American Drama Therapy Association and editor of its newsletter. Nina began her career at the children' s unit at Langley Porter Psyhciatric Institute (UCSF), with boys and girls who were hospitalized due to behavioral and mental health issues. She was also a drama therapist at Ross Psychiatric Hospital (Kentfield) conducting groups at the children and adolescent units. In addition, she worked with foster children in San Francisco. For many years, Nina was a group and individual therapist with adults who experience mental illness such as depression, anxiety, mania, and schizophrenia. She was the drama therapist at Boyer House Foundation and as a group therapist at the inpatient adult psychiatric unit, Saint Francis Memorial Hospital. At Saint Francis Mem, Hospital, Nina developed a training program for MFTi/Creative Arts Therapists where she trained many inspiring drama therapists.

Most recently, Nina became a registered nurse in order to deepen her understanding of the physical body as it relates to psychological issues. In addtion to being a psychiatic nurse, Nina is now working in an elementary school where she combines her psychotherapy experience together with her nursing skills to care for her students. Nina has been an adjunct professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies since 2000. She has taught graduate level courses and supervised students at the Drama Therapy, Integral Counseling Psychology Weekend, and Expressive Arts Theraoy programs.
